There is a vast difference between order taking and telesales. In the age of technology, a computer can take an order far more effectively than a human. Human beings are capable of talking to other humans. They can build rapport, determine needs, and provide products that suit the requirements of the buyer. Too many organisations treat their telesales people as mechanical "order takers" and as a result, they unknowingly consign an enormous volume of potential sales to the dustbin.
