Type Dynamics Indicator (TDI)

Type Dynamics Indicator (TDI)

Like the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, the Type Dynamics Indicator is based Carl Jung’s model of psychological type.

It is inevitable therefore to ask why it would be necessary to use TDI if MBTI has already been used. The key difference is that while MBTI purely looks at current preferences, TDI looks at ideal preferences. The internal struggle that people face between who they are and who they want to be is addressed by TDI, and accordingly this instrument allows a much richer understanding of personality type.

TDI examines the essence of Jung’s thinking on personality preference and it can be used for all of the following:

  • communication
  • team-working
  • work styles
  • leadership
  • learning
  • career choice
  • time & self management
  • development needs
  • problem-solving
  • conflict management
  • change management
  • personal and interpersonal effectiveness
