Time once spent can never be taken back which makes it one of your most precious assets that needs to be used with extreme care. In your quest to become a great leader, understanding how to plan and prioritise might not be top of your agenda. The best leaders however are those that posses a diverse range of abilities, and without the ability to effectively plan and prioritise, many of the other skills that a leader will develop will simply never be allowed to realise their full potential. 

Effective planning and prioritising allows the leader to focus on the activities that make them most productive. Energy is not wasted unnecessarily as a consequence of structured direction and this eliminates the perception of seemingly mundane tasks that leads to stress and anxiety. Effective time management will eliminate the feeling of working hard and having nothing to show for it at the end.
